Jean-Yves Haymoz
Jean-Yves Haymoz teaches early music theory at the Centre de Musique Ancienne of the Haute École de Musique de Genève and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. He is particularly interested in improvisation and rhetoric. He is the founder and director of the Alternatim ensemble (baroque plainchant) and co-founder of the Le Chant sur le Livre ensemble, which focuses on polyphonic improvisation in the Renaissance style.

Presentation
This session is designed for eight singers (four women and four men) who wish to learn about Singing upon the book. In this Renaissance improvisation technique, two or three voices are added to a cantus firmus. The course is run by Jean-Yves Haymoz, a renowned specialist in this practice who teaches at both the Lyon CNSMD and the Geneva HEM. The singers will then proceed to the Chapel Royal at Versailles for a recording of their improvised complements to two Couperin Masses with Olivier Latry at the organ. A launch concert for the recording will be held at Versailles during the 2022-2023 season.
